Welcome to the homepage of Highstead Riding Club (HRC). HRC was origonally formed to support Highstead Riding Centre, which is situated in Herne Bay, near Canterbury, Kent. (In its early days it was called the Highstead Riding Centre Supporters Club). Since it's inception it has grown and now has members from far and wide.
The majority of the Club events are based at the Centre, which boasts an indoor school and an outdoor all weather menage, as well as a viewing gallery and refreshment bar.
The Club hosts a number of events - the New Years Show (first Sunday in January), Easter Show (Good Friday), and Summer Show (3rd Sunday in August), as well as running riding sessions during the winter month for members (November through to March).
We also have our Hi-Point awards, which were presented at our AGM - see under the NEWS page for more details. 2007/2008 winners were Michael Alston, Emma French & Emma Lewis - congratulations.
The Centre hosts monthly Dressage competitions (November to March), a bi-annual western show (4th Sunday in February and 4th Sunday in October) as well as the Bucks Fizz Showing Series in the spring and summer.
PJS Photographers will be our Easter & Summer Show photographers. They were also at our March Dressage (2009) show - anyone wanting to view and purchase a photo, please visit them at their site:
Boulderwall tack were present at our Bucks Fizz show on 26th April, and sponsored Goodie Bags for the Best Western (Richard Ford), Best Showing (Emma Shiels) and Best Jumping (Peter French) competitors (rosettes sponsored by the American Pleasure Horse Show) and they will also be at our Summer Show on 16th August, where they are sponsoring prizes for our Supreme and Reserve - come visit their tack stand on the day.
